Vietnam lost the first match at the 2025 Women's U21 Volleyball World Cup

VHO - In the fourth match of Group A of the 2025 Women's U21 Volleyball World Cup taking place at noon on August 11 in Indonesia, the Vietnam women's U21 volleyball team lost 1-3 to Argentina's women's U21.

After 3 wins against Indonesia, Serbia and Canada, Vietnam U21 women's team and Argentina U21 women's team share the top 2 positions in the rankings with 9 points.

Vietnam U21 women's team still ranked second in the table despite losing to Argentina

Against the team considered the strongest in the group, the Vietnam U21 women's team started very well when they dominated the match and won 25-10 in set 1.

In set 2, the U21 women's team of Vietnam and the U21 women's team of Argentina played a tight game, constantly chasing the score. However, at the decisive moments, the young South American team played more effectively to win 25-20.

In the next two sets, the Vietnamese women's U21 team could not maintain stability, while the Argentine women's U21 team showed the strength of a leading candidate for the championship when they won with the same score of 25-15.

Losing 1-3 (25-10, 20-25, 15-25, 15-25) to Argentina U21 women's team, Vietnam U21 women's team still ranked second in group A and has also secured a place in the round of 16.

On August 12, Dang Thi Hong and her teammates will play the final match of the group stage against Puerto Rico's U21 women's team.

The teams compete in a round robin to score points, selecting the top 4 teams in the group to enter the round of 16.
