November 22nd, Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 opens in Ho Chi Minh City. What's special about Vietnam Foodexpo 2023?

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said: With its unique advantages and potential, the food industry is identified as one of Vietnam's key industries, playing an important role in promoting exports, creating jobs, increasing income for workers and developing the economy and society.

In the current context, implementing the Government's direction, aiming at the goal of sustainable development of the Vietnamese food industry, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been actively coordinating with ministries, branches, industry associations, organizations and enterprises to focus on promoting many activities and specific solutions in market development, improving product quality, building and developing brands, gradually increasing the export value of Vietnamese food in the world market.

To help Vietnamese food industry enterprises better promote their internal capacity, grasp and take advantage of the incentives of many new-generation bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements that Vietnam participates in, and make stronger breakthroughs in the domestic and international markets, the Ministry of Industry and Trade hosts the annual Vietnam Foodexpo - International Exhibition of Vietnam Food Industry.

“This is one of the most prominent trade promotion activities in the food industry. The event aims to create a professional trading and investment platform - a gathering place for hundreds of businesses with thousands of brands, key and developing agricultural and food products of Vietnam as well as the world's food elite, along with a variety of advanced and modern food processing machinery and technology" - Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai emphasized.

According to Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai, Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 is large-scale with over 500 booths of nearly 400 enterprises from more than 30 provinces and cities in the country and more than 20 foreign countries and territories.

“Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 continues to be a major showcase of the food industry, honoring the national brand value of Vietnamese food as well as the quintessence of world cuisine,” said Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai.

According to records, the product lines displayed and introduced at Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 are diverse, spanning across fields such as: Agricultural products (rice, vegetables, tea, coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, etc.); raw and processed seafood; processed foods and beverages (confectionery of all kinds, butter, milk, canned and processed foods, additives and spices, beverages of all kinds, functional foods, etc.); machinery, equipment, food processing technology, food preservation and packaging technology, food safety and hygiene technology, etc.

Notably, organic food production and processing is an inevitable trend of the Vietnamese food industry. Grasping this trend, Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 has the participation of many domestic and international organic brands, with a variety of products from plants and animals with organic certification, promising to bring high-quality products, meeting the needs and trends of healthy living and quality that are increasingly increasing in Vietnam. In particular, outstanding are organic products: Dried pho, dried vermicelli, rice, cashews, palm molasses, coffee, coconut cakes, beans (red beans, soybeans, black beans, white beans), black sesame, milk powder, dried spices (cinnamon, star anise, chili, garlic...), pepper...

In addition to the booths displaying goods of Vietnamese enterprises, this year's exhibition has the participation of international enterprises from over 20 countries and territories such as: United States, Russia, Australia, China, Korea, Japan, Cambodia, Cuba, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, Finland, France, India, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Italy, Kazakhstan...

Businesses introduce products to guests visiting the exhibition

Notably, this year, Oregon State (USA) participated in the exhibition as the "Guest of Honor" of Vietnam Foodexpo 2023. Oregon is famous as an iconic place for craft beer and wine, with some of the state's wines recognized as some of the best in the world. This is also the land of superfood fruit products, dairy products, snacks... From millions of pounds of potato chips to premium cheese, thousands of delicious, quality products have been produced and sold worldwide from Oregon.

Participating in this exhibition, Oregon will introduce world-class quality food brands, focusing on sustainability, health and high quality.

The organizers said that up to now, on the exhibition's online registration system, there have been many delegations of international traders and buyers registering to visit and trade at the exhibition from key markets such as: Korea, Japan, Germany, the United States, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, China, Malaysia, Canada, India... registering to visit and trade at the exhibition. It is expected that there will be thousands of direct contacts and transactions between Vietnamese enterprises and domestic and foreign buyers and investors to be conducted right at the exhibition.
