There have been many models, projects and activities implemented with social resources, contributing to building a united and civilized community, improving the spiritual and physical life of the people.
Socialization promotes cultural and sports development
Since the implementation of the 2-level local government model, the socialization movement of cultural and sports activities in Tam Hiep ward, Dong Nai province has been realized through many practical projects. Notably, the project to renovate and embellish the welcome gate of Long Binh park area has created a bright - green - clean - beautiful landscape, contributing to the construction of a civilized urban area. In addition, the ward has also implemented the project to upgrade the welcome gate at Amata intersection and build a public sports training area with a total socialization cost of about 300 million VND. The projects have been creating more space for cultural activities and physical training for people.
Party Cell Secretary, Head of Ward 25, Tam Hiep Ward Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huong said: In addition to mobilizing people to participate in renovating the welcome gate and repairing the signs, the ward also called on donors to support additional gifts for families in difficult circumstances. These actions demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility of the people in the process of building a civilized and modern urban area.
Along with investment from the budget, at cultural houses in the province, people also actively join hands to contribute and participate in building and equipping facilities such as speakers, amplifiers; and sports and exercise equipment.
In Hang Gon ward, the physical training and sports movement is maintained vigorously with 1 large football field, 1 mini football field, 12 volleyball and badminton courts and 16 regularly operating art and sports clubs. In Phu Ly commune, the sports facilities system is also invested synchronously with 1 large football field, 1 artificial football field, 9 volleyball courts in hamlets and 1 multi-purpose badminton house, serving the training needs of people of all ages.
Deputy Head of the Department of Sports Management, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Pham Thi Thanh Hien said: In recent times, Dong Nai sports has mobilized many social resources to invest in facilities and organize activities; mobilized businesses and donors to support equipment, prizes, and coaches for clubs. In particular, safe swimming programs, child drowning prevention, and projects to develop physical strength and stature of Vietnamese people have been effectively implemented, attracting thousands of students to participate each year.
Many communes and wards in the province have also made efforts to socialize investment in books in response to the Lifelong Learning Movement in cultural institutions. In Thuan Loi commune, Dong Nai province, Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space projects were put into use through the joint efforts of union members, youth and people in donating books and documents, along with the support of the Provincial Library to donate hundreds of books. Or in the communes: Tri An, Tan An, Phu Ly and Tan Trieu ward, Dong Nai province has deployed and expanded the model of the House of Wisdom in cultural institutions. This model attracts people and businesses to contribute tens of thousands of books, hundreds of sets of tables and chairs, learning equipment to serve the needs of reading, studying and community activities.
The whole province currently maintains over 2,000 grassroots sports clubs, teams, and groups, with a variety of activities from football, badminton, volleyball, martial arts, health care, yoga, aerobics, etc. suitable for all ages. Thanks to that, the rate of people participating in regular sports in Dong Nai is 41.2% of the population, and the rate of sports families is 28%.
Encourage people and businesses to join hands
Besides good models and effective methods, socialization work in some places still faces many difficulties. The area of some neighborhood cultural houses is not enough to organize community activities; in some places, cultural houses are located far from residential areas, causing inconvenience for participating in activities. Some cultural institutions have degraded and lack equipment, affecting the effectiveness of organizing movements.
Vice Chairman of Bien Hoa Ward People's Committee Truong Vinh Hiep said: After merging localities, the ward conducted a survey of all cultural institutions of the neighborhood, recorded the deterioration of facilities and promptly repaired the neighborhood office. In particular, the cultural, sports and community learning center in the ward has seriously degraded. The locality has reported and proposed to build a new center, creating a living and learning space for the people.
“Bien Hoa Ward, with its unique characteristics of Tan Hanh Ceramics Cluster and Pouchen Vietnam Co., Ltd., which has a large concentration of workers, the establishment of a cultural and sports space will contribute to organizing vocational training and education activities, improving the spiritual life of workers. Along with investment and support from the budget, the locality continues to call for social resources; at the same time, mobilize people and businesses to participate in upgrading, repairing and supplementing facilities, better meeting the living and training needs of the people,” Mr. Hiep shared.
According to Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan, in the coming time, the sector will continue to effectively promote investment resources for cultural development, prioritizing investment in infrastructure, cultural institutions, human resource training, and building local cultural brands. At the same time, promote socialization of investment in the field of culture and sports, encourage businesses, organizations, and individuals to participate in investing in projects serving the needs of cultural enjoyment and physical training of the people, creating a foundation for sustainable development of Dong Nai province.
