Improve knowledge and professional skills
The services provided by nurses have made an important contribution to improving the quality of health care for the people. Currently, nurses are responsible for implementing medical orders and are given greater authority and responsibility in the entire patient care process, from assessing the patient's condition to planning care, evaluating effectiveness and making adjustments when necessary...
Da Nang Hospital has built 14 indicators to evaluate the quality of patient care online (G-forms) to optimize costs, reduce time burden and pressure on medical staff, thereby creating conditions for the team to focus more on patient care.
In particular, the program “Prevention of infection risk and medication errors in intravenous therapy - PRIME” from the JCI Organization (USA) implemented at the hospital has become a bright spot in patient care... This program not only improves service quality but also helps the hospital become the first public unit in Vietnam to achieve the prestigious PRIME certification from the JCI Organization.

The hospital also expands international cooperation with organizations to train nurses according to new programs. Through these programs, the nursing team continuously improves their professional skills and ability to apply modern technology in patient care.
Dr. Le Duc Nhan, Director of Da Nang Hospital, said that in its development strategy, the hospital is constantly expanding and improving the quality of medical services. In addition, training high-quality human resources is also the hospital's top priority, with the goal of developing a team of doctors and masters of nursing; at the same time, improving soft skills and foreign language ability, helping nurses integrate and approach international standards.
In order to equip knowledge and skills on artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, the City Nursing Association in collaboration with Da Nang Hospital organized training on AI application in nursing for nearly 1,500 nurses at medical facilities in the city. This is an important step to build a team of professional nurses, adapting to the digital transformation era, towards comprehensive - effective - modern patient care. This is also an important step for the city's nursing team to access new technology, improving capacity in the digital age.
According to the leaders of the Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, the unit continuously sends nurses to participate in training courses, workshops, and professional development; including the application of AI. The hospital also regularly invites domestic and foreign experts and reporters to share experiences as well as update new information and knowledge in the fields of obstetrics, pediatrics, nursing care, etc. This is the hospital's initiative to create favorable conditions for medical staff to improve their professional capacity and skills.
Inspire the spirit of learning and creativity
Competitions for “Excellent Skills”, “Excellent Nurses - Excellent Technicians”… are held annually by hospitals. With the goal of constantly improving the quality of expertise and medical services for the nursing staff, Da Nang Oncology Hospital regularly organizes scientific conferences, excellent skills competitions… These activities help nurses improve their knowledge, professional skills and communication skills; provide the best care services for patients; build a professional and friendly working environment.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Director of Da Nang Oncology Hospital, shared that the team of nurses, medical technicians, and caregivers are the core force that plays an important role in the success and development of the hospital. Therefore, the hospital leadership always cares and creates conditions for this team to learn, be creative and confident, and develop their own capacity; thereby bringing nursing work to a new level.
According to Dr. Le Duc Nhan, every year, Da Nang Hospital organizes professional competitions to improve the professional quality of the nursing team. The excellent professional competition for nurses with over 5 years of work experience is an opportunity to affirm their capacity and share experiences; in which the competition for nurses with less than 5 years of experience helps to evaluate practical skills and identify areas for improvement. From there, the hospital builds a suitable training plan, ensuring that the nursing team is increasingly solid in their expertise and meets the needs of patient care.
Recently, Thanh Khe Regional Medical Center organized the contest "Skills - solid luggage for young doctors", attracting hundreds of nurses, technicians, midwives, and physicians to participate.
Dr. Vo Duy Trinh, Director of Thanh Khe Regional Medical Center, said that the contest contributed to affirming the unit's efforts to innovate and improve the quality of medical examination and treatment. This is a professional playground to stimulate the spirit of learning and creativity; as well as evaluate the skills of practicing service style and professional level of medical staff, aiming at patient satisfaction.
