On the morning of January 27, the Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh Province Police said that the Traffic Police are coordinating with other forces on duty at the scene to direct traffic, regulate traffic, and clear the scene of the accident on An Khe Pass.
Previously, at around 11:30 p.m. on January 26, tractor-trailer 77C - 133.32 towing trailer 77R - 018.47 carrying wood chips was traveling in the direction of Gia Lai - Quy Nhon. When reaching Km66+200 (An Khe Pass area), it overturned. Dozens of vehicles passing through this area were blocked for many hours.
Upon receiving the news, the Traffic Police of Binh Dinh Province arrived, coordinated with the Office of Highway Management III.4 to regulate traffic and assist the overturned vehicle to clear the scene.
By around 9am, the tractor trailer had been lifted, but the wood chips were still spilling onto the road. Authorities were still on duty at the scene to direct traffic and handle the wood chips after the truck overturned.
Previously, from around 3am to 10am on January 25, on An Khe Pass, there was also a traffic jam that lasted for dozens of kilometers. The congestion lasted until around 3:45pm on the same day before it was completely cleared.
The cause of the traffic jam is that at Km61+300 the curve is narrowed, under construction and the impact of rainy weather makes the embankment muddy, heavy trucks have difficulty moving, stall, vehicles jostle each other, chaos leading to congestion.
