Responding to storm No. 10: Gia Lai calls on more than 140 boats to move to safety

On September 27, the Gia Lai Civil Defense Command sent a dispatch to the Provincial Military Command and the People's Committees of some coastal communes and wards with ships in the danger zone of storm No. 10, urgently calling on and instructing ships to quickly move out of the danger zone.

According to a quick report at 6:00 a.m. on September 27 from the Gia Lai Fisheries Department, the whole province currently has 141 ships in dangerous areas in the following communes and wards: Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon Dong, Hoai Nhon Tay, Hoai Nhon Bac, Quy Nhon, Cat Tien, Tam Quan, De Gi and Phu My Dong commune.

Meanwhile, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 10 is moving fast (twice the average speed) and is strong. Winds near the center of the storm are at level 11-12, gusting to level 15. The locations of 141 ships are recorded in the danger zone of this storm.

Previously, on September 25, the Gia Lai Civil Defense Command also issued Document No. 37/BCH-PCTT on proactively responding to storm BUALOI near the East Sea. Accordingly, the Gia Lai Civil Defense Command requested the Provincial Military Command, People's Committees of coastal communes and wards to urgently and closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of the storm; notify captains and owners of vehicles and boats anchored at the port or operating at sea to proactively prevent and adjust production plans accordingly, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.

Units are ready with forces and means to rescue when requested.
