Thanh Hoa is a locality with relatively rich natural tourism resources, mainly concentrated in Ben En National Park, Xuan Lien National Park and Pu Luong and Pu Hu nature reserves, Nam Dong rare gymnosperm species conservation area, Tam Quy sen forest nature reserve. Along with that, there are villages and hamlets imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic minorities such as Muong, Thai, Dao... with a fresh and cool natural climate. In addition, the province also has a system of historical and cultural relics with outstanding values such as Lam Kinh National Special Relic Site, Ba Trieu Temple National Special Relic Site... Promoting that potential advantage, in recent times, many localities in the province have been focusing on investing in developing green tourism products.
Typically, at Xuan Lien National Park located in the upper reaches of Chu River, within the administrative boundaries of 5 communes: Bat Mot, Yen Nhan, Luong Son, Xuan Cam and Van Xuan (Thuong Xuan). Coming here, visitors can enjoy the wild beauty of the green primeval forests, visit and learn about animals and plants with high biological value, many of which are listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and the world ; explore many waterfalls with wild and charming beauty such as Thien Thuy waterfall, Hon Yen waterfall...; or take a boat to see the scenery on Cua Dat lake, kayak and enjoy the unique culinary culture imbued with the identity of ethnic minorities.
One of the green tourism products here has been attracting a lot of tourists to participate, especially in the summer, is boating to see the scenery on Cua Dat Lake. Currently, Xuan Lien National Park has 6 boats serving tourists, each boat can accommodate nearly 30 guests. Of which, 5 boats are managed by Cua Dat Lake Ecotourism Company, the rest are managed by households.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh, the boat owner in Cua Dat Lake, said: In the summer, many tourists come to Xuan Lien National Park to participate in sightseeing cruises on Cua Dat Lake. Joining a cruise, visitors will enjoy the charming beauty of the mountains and rivers, enjoy the cool air of the lake and explore the green forests of Xuan Lien National Park. In addition, visitors will discover many beautiful waterfalls such as Hon Yen waterfall, formed from many small streams flowing down from the top of Pu Gio mountain, nearly 800m above sea level. The waterfall has 3 floors. The lowest floor at the end of the stream is about 50m high, the second floor is over 30m and the top waterfall floor is about 20m high. The development of diverse green tourism products has contributed to minimizing the impact on the environment, actively contributing to the protection of biodiversity, promoting natural and cultural values in Xuan Lien National Park. Therefore, the Management Board of Xuan Lien National Park is also continuing to make efforts to implement many solutions such as: Developing green tourism in a professional, modern, focused and key direction. Promoting socialization, mobilizing all resources to participate in investing in green tourism development. Strengthening links with businesses and travel agencies to connect points, tours, and tourist routes with tourism activities in Xuan Lien National Park. Along with that, paying attention to building accommodation facilities in the Xuan Lien National Park area to serve tourists...
In the current trend, most tourists are people who respect and are responsible for the environment, so the trend of finding unique cultural values and friendly destinations close to nature is gradually becoming popular. Therefore, the name Yen Trung Tourist Village (Yen Dinh) has long been familiar to tourists who love green tourism. Because this place has an open space, lots of trees, surrounded by fields and villages that are extremely peaceful and prosperous, visitors coming here will be able to visit and experience many activities such as visiting ancient houses that are hundreds of years old, exploring clean farms, growing vegetables, tubers, fruits such as cantaloupe, cucumbers, roses...; then you can go to the fields with the locals to fish, use fish traps... and learn about the lifestyle, culture, and customs of the people here.
It can be seen that the green tourism trend is increasingly popular, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists to participate. That is why, in recent times, businesses in particular and the tourism community in general have become more and more aware of green transformation in tourism activities, that is, focusing on developing tourism based on respecting, preserving, and effectively promoting resource values; implementing green tourism management, business and consumption activities; building environmentally friendly tourism models, promoting indigenous cultural values in tourism activities. Paying attention to investing in waste and wastewater treatment systems, contributing to protecting the green - clean - beautiful environment in tourism activities. At the same time, focusing on developing types of tourism products such as cultural, spiritual tourism, community eco-tourism, agricultural and rural tourism on the basis of sustainable development towards green growth.
However, objectively speaking, the development of green tourism in the province is only at the initial stage, not fully exploiting its potential and inherent advantages. Therefore, it is necessary to have more "long-term" strategies of the provincial tourism industry towards comprehensive green transformation, thereby promoting tourism development effectively and sustainably.
