Wild monkeys appear to destroy people's property and crops.

This morning, November 27, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Hieu Commune, Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province Tran Thanh Hoai said that recently, in the Nam Hieu village area, bordering Cam Lo town, Cam Lo district, a monkey appeared.

According to information from local people, this monkey was discovered on November 21, 2024, weighing about 8 kg. Since its appearance, the monkey has often damaged property of local people, bitten fruit and posed a threat to human health, especially children.

Initial assessment, this monkey is a rare animal, belonging to group IIB, appendix II CITES.

In order to protect people's health and property, as well as protect rare wildlife, Cam Hieu Commune People's Committee has propagated and mobilized people to limit contact when detecting animals to ensure safety.

At the same time, organizations and individuals are encouraged to apply measures to repel and limit harm to this monkey. In case of capture, promptly report and hand over to the authorities for handling according to the provisions of law.
