10,000 billion VND to develop clean water sources in Binh Duong

On September 6, Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee and leaders of Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement on funding State investment credit capital for environmental protection projects.

Accordingly, there will be about 10,000 billion VND of State investment credit capital lent by the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) - Transaction Office II with preferential interest rates for environmental protection projects invested by Binh Duong Water and Environment Corporation (BIWASE). For companies and related persons of BIWASE, the loan limit shall not exceed 16,000 billion VND.

This is considered a source of "green credit" for businesses to continue implementing projects related to environmental protection, including projects to develop clean water for people and workers.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, for provinces with strong industrial and urban development, "going ahead and taking the lead" to invest in environmental protection projects is very important.

In recent years, Binh Duong has proactively mobilized many capital sources, including ODA capital, to build projects for wastewater treatment, waste treatment, and converting waste into electricity...

Projects are being implemented quickly in industrially developing provinces, contributing to minimizing the environmental impact of industrial production activities. In densely populated areas with workers such as Thuan An, Di An, Tan Uyen cities... the environment is gradually improving.

Many environmental protection projects are successful thanks to loan capital.

Binh Duong has had large-scale environmental protection projects put into operation using loan capital such as: Di An city water plant funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Binh Duong new city water plant co-funded by the Netherlands and the World Bank (WB).

There are also other projects using loan capital such as 4 wastewater treatment plants with a capacity of 90,000 m3/day and night, a 5 MW waste-to-energy plant, an organic fertilizer production line from waste with a capacity of 840 tons/day...
