170 artists from 21 countries attend Photo Hanoi'25 event

The international photography event Photo Hanoi'25 will officially take place from November 1 to 30 in Hanoi. The event was initiated by the French Institute in Vietnam in 2021.

The program is hosted by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the French Institute in Hanoi, with the support of the UNESCO Office in Hanoi and international partners. The event aims to build Photo Hanoi into a typical international photography festival of the capital, held every 2 years, contributing to promoting Hanoi to become a creative center of photography in Asia.

Speaking at a press conference on the afternoon of October 22, Ms. Bach Lien Huong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, emphasized that Photo Hanoi'25 contributes to promoting the image and cultural and tourism brand of Hanoi; promoting exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign artists and organizations; demonstrating the capital's strong commitment to implementing cultural initiatives in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

According to Mr. Eric Soulier, Director of the French Institute in Vietnam, the event is a tribute to culture and to Hanoi, creating a meeting space between generations of Vietnamese and international artists with different perspectives on the world . Photo Hanoi'25 is a collective, decentralized and open project, taking place in more than 20 cultural venues, galleries, and public spaces, helping photography become a part of urban life.

According to the organizers, more than 170 artists, photographers, curators and experts from 21 countries will participate in the event, along with 25 accompanying professional organizations. During the month, the public will enjoy 22 photography exhibitions and 29 sideline activities such as workshops, art tours, film screenings and exchanges, meetings...

Exhibitions are held in many spaces familiar to the public who love visual arts such as the Exhibition House at 45 Trang Tien, 93 Dinh Tien Hoang, the French Institute in Vietnam, Japan Foundation, Casa Italia, Long Bien Art Fair..., as well as appearing in many public places such as Dien Hong flower garden, Hoan Kiem lake and the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam.

Photo Hanoi'25 promises to bring a colorful visual feast, affirming Hanoi's role as a creative photographic meeting point of the region.
