The decision to discharge the children was made after their health had stabilized after 4 days of treatment with intravenous fluids and antibiotics. This morning, their parents took them home for further monitoring.
Regarding the incident, the Quang Tri Province Center for Disease Control said it had taken food samples and 12 rectal fluid samples for testing.
"Currently, all samples have been sent to the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang and the results are not yet available," said the leader of the Quang Tri Province Center for Disease Control.
The Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province has also asked schools to review the entire process of providing boarding meals, and at the same time strengthen supervision and ensure food safety to avoid similar incidents.
According to the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, the local government is coordinating with relevant agencies to inspect and review the boarding meal process and clarify the cause of the incident.
"The locality's viewpoint is to handle the matter objectively, publicly, transparently, without cover-ups, to ensure the safety of students and the educational environment," affirmed the leader of Kim Ngan commune.
