42 enterprises with capitalization of more than 1 billion USD

As of the end of September 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) had 42 enterprises with a capitalization of more than 1 billion USD. Of which, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam ( Vietcombank ) is the only enterprise with a capitalization of nearly 20 billion USD.

Vietcombank has the highest market capitalization, reaching nearly 20 billion USD

Statistics from HOSE show that as of September 29, 2023, HOSE has 601 listed securities codes, including 394 stock codes, 3 closed-end fund certificates, 14 ETF fund certificates and 190 covered warrant codes. The total volume of listed shares reached over 146.42 billion shares. The capitalization value reached over VND 4.62 million billion, down 5.62% compared to the previous month, accounting for over 93.69% of the total listed capitalization value of the whole market and equivalent to 48.57% of GDP in 2022 (GDP at current prices).

Of the 394 listed companies, there are currently 42 companies with a capitalization of more than 1 billion USD (over 23,500 billion VND). Of which, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank - VCB) is the only company with outstanding capitalization in the market, reaching nearly 20 billion USD (approximately 480,000 billion VND).

Previously, in July 2023, after VCB peaked at VND106,500/share, the market capitalization of this bank reached more than VND504,000 billion, equivalent to 1/10 of the total capitalization value of the entire stock exchange. At the end of the trading session on October 3, VCB was only VND86,300/share.
