NDO - From 193 graduation projects submitted to the competition, the Organizing Committee of the 36th Loa Thanh Award evaluated and selected 66 projects to award 2 first prizes, 18 second prizes, 24 third prizes and 22 consolation prizes. This year, Hanoi University of Architecture and Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture continued to "win big" with 13 awards of all kinds.

On the morning of November 23, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Construction Association, the Vietnam Association of Architects, the Ministry of Construction and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held the 36th Loa Thanh Award Ceremony in 2024.

This year, the Award recorded 193 submitted projects, 11 more than in 2023. Some schools with a tradition continue to send a large number of projects to the Award, typically Hanoi University of Architecture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering...

Dr. Phan Dang Son, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects, delivered a speech summarizing the Award.

However, some universities that won high prizes in previous years did not send many entries this year, or even had no entries at all. This reflects the difficulty of the schools in recruiting and training, or perhaps due to the limitations of the attractiveness of the Prize.

The projects in the technical, construction and construction economics categories generally have the same quality as in previous years. The number of projects in the architectural and planning categories has increased, accounting for nearly 70% of the total entries to the award, with topics of quite diverse genres, but mainly focusing on public works.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 first prizes, 18 second prizes, 24 third prizes and 22 consolation prizes. Of which, 2 first prizes belonged to projects from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, including: "Southeast War Remnants Museum" by student Nguyen Thi Thuy Quynh and "Landscape architectural design planning of the ancient stone village of Ban Gun - Khuoi Ky, in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province" by student Phan Thi Thu Truc.

Loa Thanh Award is an initiative of the Vietnam Construction Association (now the Vietnam Construction Association), first held in 1988, to honor outstanding graduation projects of students of construction and architecture universities. Later, the scale of the Award was expanded, with the participation of the Vietnam Association of Architects, the Ministry of Construction and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
