Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education was honored to welcome President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernández to visit.
As soon as he entered the main hall, President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernández had a friendly and close interaction with the students. He was particularly interested in the professions and work needs of students after graduation.
"Cuba has about 50 universities with more than 250,000 students, 250 research centers, especially 60% of researchers are women" - National Assembly President Esteban Lazo Hernández shared.
To welcome the special guest, many groups of students from the University of Technical Education "introduced" impressive products. In the photo, Thanh Duy, a student majoring in control and automation, is reprogramming the robot's positioning map. This is a robot product developed by a software research team. With just a few steps, the robot can guide you to the right place.
During the visit, President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernández was particularly interested in the types of drones researched by students.
The school introduces tillers, generators, modern engines... researched by the school's alumni, applied to the market and exported to many countries.

The most impressive is the smart agricultural drone used to spray pesticides, with a payload of 30kg. The drone costs 10,000 USD, of which 70% is researched by Vietnam, the remaining 30% are imported parts from abroad.
During this visit, the Cuban delegation expressed their desire to learn from Vietnam’s experience in improving and applying high technology to agricultural development, serving the lives of the Cuban people. This is considered an important event, contributing to promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
Dr. Truong Thi Hien, Chairwoman of the Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, affirmed that the spirit of solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba is an invaluable asset. In that spirit, the school is always ready to establish and promote bilateral training cooperation programs, joint undergraduate and postgraduate training in various fields; organize exchange programs for students, lecturers, scientists; co-develop topics, research projects, technology transfer in the fields of renewable energy, hydrogen, smart agriculture, etc.
