The international exhibition specializing in food - beverages, food and beverage packaging processing technology equipment in Vietnam gathers 800 booths of 700 enterprises from 20 countries and territories, with many products in many fields such as food, beverages, nutritional foods, functional foods, seafood, raw materials, food additives, machinery, equipment for production, packaging, food preservation...
The exhibition is an important trade promotion activity, continuing to open up opportunities for Vietnamese and foreign businesses to display and promote products, expand business markets and transfer technology.
In his opening speech, Mr. Vo Van Hoan - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that 2023 is a year in which the Vietnamese economy in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular have had positive steps of recovery.
In that general context, the food processing industry has affirmed its pivotal role as one of the four key industries of the city's economy and is being focused on by Ho Chi Minh City to improve and develop, accounting for 13.78% of the total industrial production value, contributing 13.69% of the total industrial value added; the industrial production index of this industry grows by an average of 7.04%/year in the period 2018-2022.

According to an assessment report released in early August 2022 by Mordor Intelligence Inc., the Vietnamese food and beverage industry will achieve a compound annual growth rate of up to 8.65% in the period 2021-2026. This is a positive forecast that helps businesses in the industry hope for a strong business recovery in the coming time.
Ho Chi Minh City leaders hope the exhibition will contribute to stimulating consumption and helping city businesses promote production and business development.
In addition, to promote effective trade promotion, the Organizing Committee has built specialized seminars; Business-to-Business Connection Program; Special Buyer Program expected to welcome a large number of domestic and foreign visitors to visit and work. This will greatly contribute to the development of the food and beverage processing industry, improve competitiveness towards sustainable development for the domestic food and beverage industry in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
According to Mr. Hoan, the city has been supporting investment for businesses in the industry to shift towards refining, applying new and advanced technologies to create high-quality products; gradually reducing investment in extensive development, focusing on in-depth development with modern technologies, creating high-quality products with great added value. Many projects invest in equipment lines, apply automation technology in production to create many diverse products, quality and reasonable prices.
