700 passengers stranded on Nam Du Island have safely reached the mainland.

On the afternoon of July 16, Mr. Tran Van Tai, Director of the Maritime Port Authority of Kien Giang province, informed: "All ferries running on the Rach Gia - Nam Du - Phu Quoc, Ha Tien - Phu Quoc routes and vice versa are allowed to operate normally again, in accordance with regulations and levels, ensuring maritime safety at sea."

According to the Southern Regional Weather Forecast Center, at 11:00 a.m. on July 16, the low pressure area in the East Sea has gradually weakened. The waters of Kien Giang, Phu Quoc, Ca Mau and the Gulf of Thailand have southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, level 8, and widespread heavy rain. Waves are 2-2.5m high, the sea is rough, with many thunderstorms and whirlwinds.

Tourists on Nam Du Island have returned to the mainland safely.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Yen Oanh, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of An Son Commune, Kien Hai District: "A few days ago, about 700 tourists on Nam Du Island were stranded on the island for four days due to bad weather and the boats stopped running - since July 13.

This afternoon, the island mobilized five Nam Du - Rach Gia trains, and all passengers were able to board the trains to the mainland. 700 passengers were guaranteed safety and good health.

Previously, Kien Hai district had directed accommodation establishments, hotels, motels, and tourist attractions in Nam Du island commune to share difficulties with tourists, reduce room rates by 30-50%. At the same time, create the best conditions for tourists during their stay...
