After a period of review, AFC decided to severely punish 3 players of Buriram United. Accordingly, Ramil Sheydayev (Azerbaijani) was suspended for 8 matches, Leon James and Chitipat Tanklang (both Thai) were suspended for 6 matches.
On the Zhejiang Club side, midfielder Yao Junsheng, striker Gao Di, foreign player Leo Souza (Brazilian) and two staff members were given a temporary suspension from duty by the AFC.
Buriram United players were heavily fined because they were identified as the ones who provoked their opponents and started the fight, in which Ramil Sheydayev grabbed his neck and dragged him away.
However, Buriram United captain, defender Theerathon Bunmathan, escaped punishment from the AFC even though the Zhejiang club "accused" the Thai player of swearing and provoking the fight.
