The live-fire exercise, which involved all specialized units of the Egyptian Armed Forces, took place under the supervision of Defense Minister Abdel-Meguid Saqr and Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, along with many senior military leaders and commanders.
The exercise simulated a variety of complex attack and defense scenarios against potential threats, involving coordination between naval, air defense, electronic, chemical and air force forces.
Accordingly, the air defense force repelled simulated enemy airstrikes, protecting the Gamal Abdel Nasser helicopter carrier and escort ships by launching Avenger missiles, Harpoon surface-to-surface missiles and many other types of artillery at the enemy.
In addition, the Suleiman Ezzat-class missile boat joined the air defense formation to repel enemy air attacks. The submarine conducted reconnaissance to detect hostile units.
Apache helicopters then carried out airstrikes on targets identified by the submarine.
The Air Force coordinated with the Gamal Abdel Nasser helicopter carrier and other warships to deploy scenarios to attack coastal targets.
