On October 9, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province issued a document requesting provincial departments, branches, sectors, unions, relevant units and People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to proactively implement solutions to respond to floods combined with high tides affecting agricultural production and people's lives in the province.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province requested the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to closely monitor forecasts and warnings of floods and high tides; promptly and fully inform authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent, respond and minimize damage.

Arrange dike management forces in production sub-regions to patrol and inspect dike and culvert systems to promptly and proactively reinforce and repair weak dike lines at risk of overflow, breakage, landslides, and handle construction incidents according to the "4 on-site" motto.

Direct units managing and exploiting irrigation works in the area to organize the reasonable opening and closing of the sluice system, safely manage dams; install and operate pumping stations to prevent flooding in a timely manner to protect the lives and property of people and the 2025 autumn-winter rice production area, vegetable and fruit tree areas in the area.

Synchronously deploy solutions to prevent drowning, especially to ensure the safety of children and students. Develop a plan to mobilize forces, organize rescue stations, childcare centers, and pick up and drop off students in remote, isolated, and flooded areas affected by floods.

Deploy solutions to protect aquaculture cages, ponds, and livestock facilities to minimize damage caused by rain and floods.

The Irrigation Sub-Department proactively operates the sewer system managed by the Sub-Department and coordinates with the Southern Irrigation Exploitation Company Limited, An Giang Irrigation Exploitation Company Limited and localities to flexibly and effectively operate sewers and pumping stations in the province to drain water and prevent flooding in low-lying areas. Organize 24/24 hours on-duty, closely monitor the developments of floods, high tides, heavy rains, and promptly inform sectors and localities to have proactive response measures.

An Giang Electricity Company plans to ensure power supply for pumping stations to prevent flooding in order to protect the 2025 autumn-winter crop production, and promptly support and fix power problems when they occur.

The Department of Construction directs agencies and functional units to continue to coordinate with relevant forces and localities to proactively deploy traffic safety assurance work (waterways and roads) in case of natural disasters, and support localities to promptly overcome landslides and traffic routes that have been cut off according to management levels.

The Provincial Military Command and Provincial Police are proactive and ready to mobilize forces and means to coordinate with the commune-level disaster prevention and control force... to handle urgent cases, participate in rescue, and maintain social order and security.

The An Giang Province Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that the water level in the upstream areas of the Tien and Hau rivers is likely to reach its flood peak in the evening of October 9 to October 10 (18-19 of the lunar calendar), then slowly decline. The peak flood level on the Tien River at Tan Chau is likely to reach 395cm, approximately 5cm lower than alert level II; on the Hau River at Khanh An at 490cm, 20cm above alert level II, and at Chau Doc at 350cm, equivalent to alert level II.
