An Giang Department of Health inspects activities at An Phu Medical Center

On the morning of October 7, a working delegation from the An Giang Department of Health inspected the implementation of tasks at An Phu Medical Center after implementing the 2-level local government model.

An Phu Medical Center currently has 4 functional rooms, 15 specialized departments, 1 Dong Ky Regional General Clinic and 14 medical stations, with a total of 376 employees and labor contracts. Medical equipment such as digital X-ray machines, general color ultrasound machines, cardioverter machines, hematology machines, ionometer machines, etc. have been invested to contribute to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment and meeting the health care needs of the people.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the center received and treated more than 101,000 patients, including over 95,000 health insurance visits. Disease prevention and control work was vigorously implemented with many synchronous solutions, close to the actual local situation. Food hygiene and safety work was regularly maintained, with no cases of food poisoning occurring in the area.

After the field inspection, the working group, leaders of An Phu Medical Center and representatives of departments, faculties and medical stations exchanged, discussed and clarified a number of difficulties and problems such as: Management and consulting on professional activities in the context of transition to a two-level government model; degraded infrastructure of medical stations; personnel arrangement, disease source management and epidemic prevention and control; prolonged debt situation, affecting payment to ensure drug supply; unsynchronized medical equipment, limiting the ability to deploy advanced techniques...

On behalf of the working delegation, Head of the Department of Organization and Personnel of An Giang Department of Health Bui Thanh Nghiem acknowledged the opinions and recommendations of An Phu Medical Center, and at the same time requested the unit to continue to supplement, edit and complete the report assessing the implementation of tasks; review personnel, facilities and medical equipment to prepare for conversion in accordance with the 2-level local government model as prescribed.
