An Giang resolutely implements school construction in border communes

The working session was held directly at the Provincial People's Committee, combined online with the communes: Giang Thanh, Vinh Gia, Khanh Binh.

The investment in building schools for border communes is carried out according to the policy of the Politburo in the Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW, dated July 18, 2025. Accordingly, the investment policy is to build boarding schools for primary and secondary levels in 248 border communes. In the immediate future, the pilot investment will complete the construction or renovation of 100 schools in 2025.

In An Giang province, there are 14 land border communes and wards, including 9 communes: An Phu, Nhon Hoi, Khanh Binh, Phu Huu, Vinh Xuong, Ba Chuc, Vinh Gia, Giang Thanh, Vinh Dieu and 5 wards: Chau Doc, Vinh Te, Tinh Bien, Thoi Son, Ha Tien.

An Giang Provincial People's Committee has reported on the proposed investment portfolio for the construction of primary and secondary boarding schools in the land border communes in the above localities.

The Ministry of Education and Training assigned An Giang province the target of building 3 schools out of 100 nationwide in phase 1, to be completed and put into use before August 30, 2026. An Giang has registered to invest in building 3 primary and secondary boarding schools in 3 communes: Giang Thanh, Vinh Gia, and Khanh Binh.

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province Thieu Van Nam reported on preparations for building schools in border communes.

In Giang Thanh commune, it is planned to build Giang Thanh Primary - Secondary Boarding School. The total investment is expected to be over 207,655 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance is about 21 billion VND.

In Vinh Gia commune, merge Luong An Tra Primary School B into Luong An Tra Secondary School to form Vinh Gia Primary - Secondary Boarding School. The total investment is expected to be over 356,622 billion VND.

Khanh Binh Commune, Khanh An A Primary School merged with Khanh An Primary and Boarding Secondary School to form Khanh An Primary - Secondary Boarding and Semi-Boarding Secondary School. The total estimated investment is over 196,256 billion VND; of which, the cost of site clearance is about 15,468 billion VND.

Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy assigned the Provincial Project Management Board to be the investor of projects in Vinh Gia and Khanh Binh communes; the Provincial Traffic and Construction Management Board to be the investor of the project in Giang Thanh commune. The investors are requested to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to determine the specific area and scale, establish the project and carry out procedures in accordance with regulations.

At the same time, the Department of Construction is requested to guide localities on the shortened planning adjustment procedures to ensure the legality of project approval; the Department of Education and Training coordinates with investors to determine the scale and design standards; the Department of Finance arranges capital according to the capital needs of 2025 to ensure the implementation and completion of projects by August 30, 2026.

Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy requested investors to urgently and resolutely carry out assigned tasks; when encountering difficulties or problems, report to the leaders or the Provincial People's Committee Office for timely resolution.
