Come to the old resistance base

If you choose to explore Dong Nai along Highway 13 to the border area, visitors will be able to explore, experience and listen to stories about the fighting spirit and intelligence of Vietnam through relics and bases in the revolutionary struggle.

Located in Loc Thanh commune of Dong Nai province, among more than 3 thousand hectares of forest bordering Cambodia, Ta Thiet Base is one of the impressive destinations for tourists. Coming to Ta Thiet Base, tourists can learn about the imprint of the Vietnamese revolution through stories about the activities of the Regional Command - the brain organ directing the revolution of the whole South. This place is also known as the strategic "brain" of the South in the resistance war against America.

Coming to Ta Thiet Base relic, tourists will visit important historical sites, workplaces of leaders such as: the houses of Senior Lieutenant General Tran Van Tra, General Le Duc Anh, Major General Nguyen Thi Dinh...; meeting tunnel, unique Hoang Cam kitchen system, trench system, trails in the middle of the forest... Each relic and stop brings visitors vivid historical stories, recreating a part of the life and the arduous but extremely heroic fighting of generations of ancestors.

Mr. Tran Van Hoang (residing in Tan Trieu ward, Dong Nai province) shared: Since the province's unification, this is the second time he has come to Ta Thiet Base with his family and colleagues. At each stop, through the tour guide's words, Mr. Hoang was moved and felt proud of the spirit of solidarity and bravery, and at the same time admired the intelligence of the Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers in the process of fighting for national independence.

With its great historical significance and value, Ta Thiet Base was ranked as a special national historical site in 2012.

Leaving Ta Thiet Base, continuing the journey along Highway 13, tourists can visit the National Historical Site of the Communal House in Loc Ninh Commune. According to historical documents, on April 7, 1972, Loc Ninh was the first district (of the former Binh Phuoc province) in the South to be completely liberated and became the place where political, military and logistical agencies were concentrated. In particular, the Communal House was the headquarters of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam.

The House of Diplomacy is the diplomatic place between the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam and diplomatic delegations at home and abroad. This place marks many evidences of the heroic and intelligent struggle of our army and people on both military and diplomatic fronts in the struggle to protect national independence and unify the country. In particular, the four-party military conference discussed the terms signed in the Paris Agreement in 1973 to end the war and restore peace in Vietnam.

One of the prominent destinations attracting tourists in recent years is Phat Quoc Van Thanh pagoda located next to Cha La lake in Binh Long ward, Dong Nai province.

Phat Quoc Van Thanh Pagoda is one of the typical spiritual works of the ancient land of Binh Phuoc, and is also the pride of the local people when the pagoda was awarded the Golden List of Tangible Cultural Heritage by the Vietnam Union of UNESCO Associations with the tallest sitting statue of Buddha Shakyamuni in Southeast Asia. Visiting Phat Quoc Van Thanh Pagoda, visitors not only make a pilgrimage to worship Buddha but also experience the cool green natural space, bringing peace to visitors.

Having conducted surveys and built tourist destinations in Dong Nai province, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center Tran Thi Thu Trang said: Cultural, historical and spiritual destinations in the northern region of Dong Nai province offer different experiences from the southern region of the province. In the coming time, the center will connect destinations to build tours in the northern region of Dong Nai province connecting with some points in the south and Long Thanh Airport. In the future, based on the advantage of having Long Thanh Airport and the potential tourist market of Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Trang hopes that Dong Nai's tourism products will have the opportunity to reach not only domestic tourists but also attract international tourists.
