As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, in the early morning of October 4, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain and water flowing from upstream, the Lam River section passing through Hamlet 1, Lang Son Commune rose, when the water receded, it caused serious landslides. According to the report, the length of the landslide was 120 m, the width was 20 m, the depth was 12 m, the area of landslide was estimated at 15,000 m 3 .

The cracks are getting deeper, the risk of further landslides is very high, threatening the property and lives of 10 households. On October 7 and 8, Anh Son district mobilized machinery and human resources to level the landslide and compact the cracks. At the same time, people are advised not to live near the landslide site.

Mr. Vo Quang Hong, one of 10 households living in the landslide area, said: "The landslide site has been leveled and lowered, so it is less dangerous. However, we are still very worried because this rainy and stormy season, the weather is complicated, landslides continue, threatening the lives and property of 10 households.

What we most expect now is that all levels and sectors will soon have a plan to completely handle the landslide situation, specifically the riverbank embankment section through village 1.

According to forecasts, in the coming days, due to the impact of storm No. 4 , Nghe An will have moderate to heavy rain, with the risk of landslides recurring. Therefore, Anh Son district, Lang Son commune People's Committee and the command of village 1, Lang Son commune have made plans to proactively evacuate people to protect the property and lives of families when there is a risk of landslides continuing.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Thien - Chairman of Lang Son Commune People's Committee said: "Currently, in Lang Son commune, there are two serious landslides: Cay Chanh area, village 1 and Provincial Road 534, passing through the parish church. The river water has eroded deep into the road.

In the coming time, if there is heavy rain and floods, the risk of riverbank erosion and "road closure" is very high, affecting people's safety. This issue has been reflected by voters through meetings and voter contacts. Therefore, we hope that authorities at all levels will pay attention and have a plan to handle it thoroughly."
