On September 21, Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee and leaders of provincial and local departments and branches went to the scene of the landslide on the Tien River bank at Tan Tich hamlet (Cao Lanh ward) to direct the recovery.

During the inspection, Mr. Tran Tri Quang requested the professional sector and Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee to coordinate with the consulting unit to carefully survey the landslide area, and at the same time, study local treatment measures, especially handling whirlpools and maintaining the banks.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to study and coordinate with the consulting unit to assess the cause of the landslide, advise the People's Committee of the province to propose solutions to overcome and urgently handle the landslide section and propose reasonable solutions and long-term treatment plans. At the same time, prepare a timely response plan when the water recedes, leading to a difference in water levels, causing a high risk of landslides.
Propose that the Chairman of Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee arrange forces to be on duty 24/7 to be ready to support and respond promptly. Continue to monitor the current situation, provide timely information to the authorities to have quick response solutions, to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
According to the authorities, in the coming time, the landslide situation in the above-mentioned area is likely to become complicated and unpredictable, especially on days when flood water from upstream is strong and combined with high tides, there is a possibility of instability.
Previously, at 1am on September 20, at Tan Tich hamlet (Cao Lanh ward), a landslide occurred on the bank of Tien river. The landslide was about 100m long, going about 20m deep into the bank.
Up to now, 7 houses have been completely damaged (1 more house than the number of houses inspected by the authorities immediately after the landslide), estimated property damage is more than 2 billion VND, no human damage.
