
At the end of the morning session on October 21, VN-Index decreased by 5.96 points to 1,630.47 points. Trading volume reached more than 946.1 million shares, equivalent to VND 27,926.5 billion. The entire floor had 123 stocks increasing, 199 stocks decreasing and 42 stocks remaining unchanged.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index decreased by 2.17 points to 260.85 points; trading volume was more than 96.2 million shares, worth VND2,214.6 billion, with 43 codes increasing, 88 codes decreasing and 55 codes remaining unchanged.
UPCOM-Index also decreased by 1.7 points to 108.61 points, with a trading volume of more than 29.8 million shares, equivalent to VND384.2 billion; the whole floor had 59 codes increasing, 163 codes decreasing and 65 codes remaining unchanged.
In the VN30 basket, there were 17 stocks increasing, 12 stocks decreasing and 1 stock remaining unchanged. Many large stocks recorded significant increases such as FPT increasing by 4.02%, VJC increasing by 3.61%, LPB increasing by 3.16%, VNM increasing by 3.09%, HDB increasing by 2.15%. On the other hand, MSN decreased by 6.11%, STB decreased by 3.46%,SHB decreased by 3.26%, VPB decreased by 2.86%, TPB decreased by 2.79%, TCB decreased by 2.77%.
The real estate sector performed negatively as most stocks decreased in price, except for VIC and VHM which increased slightly. NVL hit the floor, dragging down market sentiment. The securities sector also fell across the board, while other sectors were divided with a mix of green and red.
Market liquidity remained high, reaching more than VND28,300 billion, showing that cash flow was still strong despite investor sentiment being cautious after a deep decline.
