APEC 2027 is an opportunity to affirm national position

On the morning of July 22, a Central working delegation led by Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia came to work with the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee.

Receiving the delegation were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thanh Nhan; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung, and comrades in the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee.

Impressive economic growth

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his emotions when returning to work with An Giang - a locality with many positive changes in implementing the new organizational model. According to him, this working trip is not only an opportunity to review what has been done, the existing problems and difficulties that need to be resolved, but also an opportunity to grasp the thoughts of cadres, party members and people, serving the timely and effective advisory work for the Central Committee.

He emphasized the consistent spirit of accompanying and removing difficulties to ensure smooth operation of the apparatus from the Central to the local levels. The implementation of Resolution 11 and the Central's conclusions on reorganizing the apparatus is likened to a "revolution"; in which, the goal is not only effectiveness and efficiency but also creating momentum for the overall socio-economic growth of the whole country. The Central expects economic growth to reach over 8%, with double-digit growth rates maintained in the following years. In that context, An Giang's growth of 8.12% is considered by him to be very impressive.

In particular, during his field trip to the special economic zones, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia was impressed by the strong development of infrastructure investment. Facilities serving national defense and security, armed forces barracks and people's lives have been significantly improved compared to before. These positive changes are evidence of the locality's determination to concretize the major policies and guidelines of the Party and State.

Regarding the progress of preparations for Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress, he affirmed the high determination of the Politburo and the Secretariat in directing and managing socio-economic development in conjunction with perfecting the apparatus according to the new model. During that process, there will certainly be difficulties, but he believes that with the initiative of the locality, the issues will be effectively led and directed.

He also mentioned the APEC 2027 event - an international milestone that An Giang province was chosen to host. This is an opportunity to affirm the country's position, but also a huge pressure, requiring synchronous coordination between the Central and local levels in preparation.

Working scene.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the proactiveness and determination of An Giang province in recent times. The province has focused on leading, directing and thoroughly grasping the viewpoints of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Steering Committees, especially in the work of reorganizing the apparatus and developing the economy and society.

The implementation of the two-level local government is of historical significance, demonstrating the spirit of rapid transformation, unity of will and action throughout the Party and the entire people. After only 3 weeks of implementation, An Giang has overcome difficulties and challenges, and achieved important initial results.

In the coming time, An Giang province needs to focus on effectively implementing the resolutions of the 11th and 12th Central Conferences and the conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat. At the same time, continue to promote the results achieved in implementing the two-level government model, contributing to building a strong political system, serving sustainable socio-economic development.

Strive for double-digit growth

Speaking at the meeting, Party Central Committee member and An Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai said the province has seriously implemented the Central Government's instructions on merging the two provinces and reorganizing the political system. Working regulations and related regulations have been proactively developed, contributing to ensuring smooth and effective operation.

In the process of merging commune-level administrative units, all levels, branches and heads of agencies and units have a firm grasp of their functions, tasks and authorities, thereby organizing the implementation of tasks effectively, without interruption.

Regarding the preparation for the Party Congresses at all levels, the province has implemented it vigorously and closely, especially the work of drafting the Provincial Party Congress Documents. Up to now, An Giang has organized a scientific workshop to invite experts and scientists to contribute their opinions.

Regarding the implementation of Resolution No. 57, the province has fully developed programs and plans. However, according to the new direction of General Secretary To Lam, the province is reviewing and adjusting in a more specific and detailed direction, especially the action plans to implement the resolution.

Regarding the preparations for the APEC 2027 Summit, the Provincial Party Secretary said that the workload is huge, but the province has been proactive from the beginning. In addition to investing in infrastructure projects, the province also focuses on training and fostering human resources, promoting communication work, expanding foreign relations and developing other socio-economic fields in a synchronous and drastic manner.

Regarding economic growth, the province is excited about the new potentials and driving forces after the reorganization, determined to achieve the double-digit growth target in 2025.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of An Giang province Nguyen Thanh Nhan reported to the working delegation.

Reporting to the working delegation, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of An Giang province Nguyen Thanh Nhan said that the provincial and commune-level apparatus has officially come into operation since July 1, 2025, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted operation, serving the people's needs well. In the first 6 months of 2025, the province's economy grew positively, reaching 8.12%. Economic sectors and fields developed quite well, especially the key sectors of services-tourism, agricultural production and aquaculture. The province has registered to submit to the Politburo for comments on the draft documents and personnel plan for the Provincial Party Congress and the time to hold the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term from September 25 to October 5, 2025.
