The province has started 10 projects to serve the APEC 2027 Conference, of which 8 projects have been approved for investment and selected contractors. The province is urgently completing procedures for 2 projects, Duong Dong 2 Lake and the urban metro line project, phase 1, to start construction soon. For 11 projects invested under the public-private partnership (PPP) and business investment methods, 7 projects have selected project investors; 4 projects are selecting investors, mainly related to waste treatment and wastewater treatment.

Emphasizing the upcoming tasks, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and localities to seriously carry out their tasks, not to shirk responsibility; focus on speeding up the construction progress of projects that have started and speed up the site clearance progress. Heads of departments, branches and localities must proactively remove difficulties and obstacles; any matter beyond their authority must be promptly reported to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in charge of the field, and reported to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for direction and resolution.

At the meeting, departments, branches, Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone People's Committee, and investor Sun Group reported on the progress of projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference, clarifying difficulties and obstacles and proposing solutions.

According to the report at the working session, the Cua Can Lake Investment Project has a lake capacity of about 7.5 million m³; the capacity to supply about 45,500 m³ of water per day and night. The total land area used for the project is about 349.12 hectares. The total investment of the project is expected to be 1,026 billion VND. The capital plan has arranged 285,541 billion VND, of which 220 billion VND has been disbursed. It is expected that all the allocated capital will be disbursed by December 2025.

The People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone was assigned as the investor to implement 4 resettlement projects (including the construction investment component project and the compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance component project): An Thoi, Suoi Lon Lake, Cua Can, Ham Ninh and to implement 4 compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance component projects: Cua Can Lake, Duong Dong 2 Lake, APEC Avenue, Provincial Road 975.

8 projects assigned to the Department of Finance and the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board to select investors, the People's Committee of the special zone to exercise local authority on site clearance: Phu Quoc International Airport expansion investment project; An Thoi domestic solid waste treatment plant; An Thoi centralized wastewater treatment plant; Duong Dong 2 centralized wastewater treatment plant; Cua Can Lake water plant; Mixed urban area - Red soil area; Ong Quan Mountain ecological tourism mixed urban area.
