After age 50, metabolism slows down, making it harder to lose belly fat. However, some simple morning habits can help control weight and reduce visceral fat - the dangerous fat that hangs around the organs.

Nutritionist Dr. Lisa Moskovitz, CEO of NY Nutrition Group (USA), said: "After the age of 50, losing belly fat requires a combination of smart eating habits, regular exercise and mental health care.

Simple morning habits like choosing a protein-rich meal, drinking lemon water or apple cider vinegar, and practicing deep breathing can bring positive changes to the body."

Drink lemon water or diluted apple cider vinegar to aid metabolism

Drinking a glass of warm water mixed with fresh lemon or apple cider vinegar (1-2 teaspoons) right after waking up helps clean the intestines, aid digestion and stabilize blood sugar levels during the day.

A 2009 study published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry found that people who drank apple cider vinegar every day had a significant reduction in belly fat and BMI after 12 weeks. Apple cider vinegar also improved insulin sensitivity and reduced blood sugar spikes after meals.

According to nutritionist Keri Glassman - founder of Nutritious Life, lemon juice or apple cider vinegar should be diluted and drunk through a straw to avoid damaging tooth enamel. In addition, you should avoid drinking on an empty stomach if you have a history of stomach pain.
