National Steering Committee 515 inspects the project of mine and explosive clearance in Tuyen Quang province

On the morning of August 21, the National Steering Committee for the Search, Collection and Identification of Martyrs' Remains (National Steering Committee 515) held a Conference on the implementation of the project to clear mines and explosives to serve the search and collection of martyrs' remains in the province. Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Deputy Head of National Steering Committee 515 chaired the conference.

The conference listened to a summary report on the results of the implementation of the Project on clearance of mines, explosives and searching and collecting HCLS in the province. Accordingly, in phase 3 from March 2025, Tuyen Quang province carried out clearance of mines and explosives on an area of ​​1,320 hectares. Up to now, the progress of site clearance has reached 65.31%; there are currently 456.87 hectares left, striving to complete on schedule by December 2025. Regarding the search and collection of HCLS, the total number of people sacrificed and initially buried in the province was determined to be 4,267 martyrs, currently 3,172 martyrs have been searched and collected. From July 2024 to now, 120 information about martyrs and martyrs' graves has been received; 32 HCLS have been searched and collected; mobilized over 3,500 commune officials and militia, 327 laborers, and 403 veterans to participate in guiding, searching, and gathering HCLS.

Including the task of conducting mine clearance, searching for and collecting HCLS and achieving positive results. Comrade Ma The Hong highly appreciated the support of the National Steering Committee 515 for Tuyen Quang province in implementing the project. Currently, the areas that need to be cleared in the province are still large, the time is short, and there are many tasks. Comrade Ma The Hong hopes that the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 2 will continue to support the province in implementing the project in the next stages. At the same time, the Provincial Military Command and the Department of Home Affairs are required to proactively coordinate with the Military Region and the Ministry of National Defense to deploy tasks quickly and effectively.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Deputy Head of National Steering Committee 515 acknowledged and commended the results of mine clearance and searching and collecting HCLS in Tuyen Quang province. In the coming time, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong requested to continue promoting information and propaganda work, mobilizing people to understand the policies of the Party, State and army on overcoming the consequences of post-war bombs and mines to search and collect HCLS and develop the economy and society. The force of mine clearance and explosives needs to closely coordinate with the force of searching and collecting HCLS to carry out the right goals, strictly and safely. For the work of searching and collecting HCLS, it is necessary to proactively develop plans, especially in areas where mines have been cleared and information about martyrs is available, according to the motto: Wherever bombs and mines are cleared, search and collect HCLS there; bomb and mine clearance and search and gather HCLS to conclude the area.
