Press accompanies the development and innovation of Can Tho city

On the morning of December 6, in Can Tho City, the Vietnam Journalists Association held a conference on "High-quality journalism in the context of digital transformation", to meet the new requirements of the National Press Awards Charter and promote the task of sustainable development in the Southern region.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that the Conference aims to introduce and share new points of the revised National Press Awards Charter in 2024 and necessary contents to promote the task of sustainable development in the Southern region and the whole country.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, from 2024, the National Press Awards Charter will have many new points, especially two new award groups: Multimedia Press Awards and Creative Press Awards.

"The revised Charter of the National Press Awards in 2024 is an important milestone, demonstrating the companionship with the strong progress of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism in the development process of world journalism," Mr. Loi emphasized.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, commented that the journalism team has continuously matured, actively propagating the Party's guidelines and policies and laws.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, emphasized that Can Tho's innovation and development today always has the companionship of journalists.

"Can Tho City's innovation and development today always has the accompaniment and active, practical contributions of the team of journalists," Mr. Hieu affirmed.

The head of the Can Tho City Party Committee suggested that in the coming time, the press in the Southern region should promote the development of multi-platform, multi-service, and multi-media press products. In addition, there should be many articles and reports reflecting the great achievements of the provinces and cities, while also mentioning important issues such as regional connectivity and improving the quality of life of the people.

Can Tho currently has 71 press agencies and representative offices in operation, with more than 1,000 staff, reporters and editors.
