According to the Can Tho Department of Health , all 61 medical facilities with beds in the area, including 43 public units, 5 central hospitals and 13 non-public hospitals, have successfully deployed the electronic medical record (EMR) system. This is the first locality in the country to complete 100% of electronic medical records in all hospitals.
The implementation of electronic medical records not only completely replaces traditional paper records but also aims at the goal of "paperless healthcare", contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, reducing administrative procedures, saving time, costs and increasing transparency. At the same time, electronic medical records also effectively support the operation, management and sharing of medical data interconnected with national systems, aiming to build a "smart hospital" model.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep emphasized: This is an important milestone in the digital transformation process of the local health sector, contributing to the effective implementation of the national health digital transformation strategy, building digital government, digital society and serving people better and better.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep also said that in the coming time, the city will continue to direct the health sector to effectively operate the electronic medical record system, while exploiting big data and artificial intelligence (AI) to build a modern, friendly, people-centered health system, improving the quality of health care for all people.
