Southeast Asian newspaper predicts bad news about Vietnam Olympic's chances of advancing

After two matches, Olympic Vietnam is ranked 3rd in Group B of ASIAD 19 with 3 points, 1 point behind the two teams above, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Similarly, Indonesian newspaper Okezone also said that Vietnam's Olympic hopes of reaching the round of 16 are not high.

“In reality, at this time, only a win against Saudi Arabia can help Olympic Vietnam enter the knockout round. Even if they get 1 point, the possibility of them passing the group stage is very low,” wrote Okezone.

Another newspaper, CNN Indonesia, said that the level of the Vietnamese Olympic team and Saudi Arabia is currently too different.

Therefore, it will be very difficult for coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team to cause a surprise for the West Asian representative.

If not counting the head-to-head record with the bottom team, the current positions of the third-placed teams are respectively Olympic Thailand (1 point, -4), Indonesia (0 points, -1), Qatar (0 points, -2), Vietnam (0 points, -4) and Myanmar (0 points, -4).

On September 24, Vietnam Olympic team will face Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Iran will compete with Mongolia.
