Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper awarded many scholarships to support poor and studious students in Nam Dan district.

Speaking at the event, journalist To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Lao Dong Newspaper, said that on June 1, 2019, on the occasion of Vietnam Sea and Island Week in Bac Lieu province, the Lao Dong Newspaper Editorial Board launched and implemented the program "One million national flags with fishermen at sea".

Exactly today, June 1, 2023, the program completes 4 years of implementation. To date, after 4 years of implementation, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has presented 1,787,620 national flags to people in provinces and cities nationwide, of which 1,150,370 flags have been presented and signed in the program "Millions of national flags with fishermen at sea" to fishermen in 28/28 coastal provinces and cities; 325,550 flags from the "Frontier National Flag" component to 24 provinces with land borders and 311,700 flags from the "National Flag Road" component to build flag roads to historical-cultural relics in 33 provinces and cities nationwide.

"Hopefully, after this flag handover, a national flag street will be built in Uncle Ho's homeland" - Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper expressed.

“Today, June 1, in this sacred land, continuing the program "Pride of the National Flag", Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Nghe An province organized a ceremony to present 5,000 national flags in the "Frontier National Flag" component and 5,000 national flags in the "National Flag Road" component. Thus, the program "Pride of the National Flag" has presented Nghe An province with 45,000 national flags. Nghe An is one of the provinces that received the most flags from the program in the country" - Mr. To Dinh Tuan said.

On this occasion, the program "Scholarship to support ethnic minority and poor students" founded by Mr. Truong Hoa Binh nearly 20 years ago, currently managed by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, also awarded 100 scholarships (worth 1 million VND/scholarship) to poor but studious students of Nam Dan district; and donated 150 million VND to the Education Promotion Association of Nghe An province.

"The program hopes that these small gifts will help students in difficult circumstances have more motivation on their learning journey to become useful citizens for society, their families and themselves in the future," said Mr. To Dinh Tuan.
