These days, across the country, organizations and members of the education promotion association at all levels are competing with many practical activities on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the traditional Vietnam Education Promotion Day (October 2, 2008 - October 2, 2025), the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Association for Education Promotion (HKH) (October 2, 1996 - October 2, 2025).
October 2nd every year has become an important milestone to connect and converge scientific and technological activities and initiatives, honoring the cultural and learning values of each region, ethnicity, locality and community; promoting and encouraging emulation movements to promote learning and talent, and building a learning society.
This year's Vietnam Education Promotion Day is very special because at the beginning of the year (March 2, 2025), General Secretary To Lam wrote an article "Lifelong Learning", emphasizing the core role of learning in the development journey of each individual and the nation in the context of the country transforming to enter a new stage.
The General Secretary's article has further motivated the cadres and members of the Association for Promoting Education at all levels, and at the same time implied the "key" to "open the door" to the new revolutionary stage of our nation, which is knowledge. Next, Resolution 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo was born with 6 guiding viewpoints and 8 breakthroughs in tasks and solutions.
This is a resolution of special importance, of strategic significance to make a strategic breakthrough in developing high-quality human resources, within the overall breakthrough of fields to bring our country firmly into the new era.
More specifically, on September 16, 2025, General Secretary To Lam took the time to meet, encourage and work with representatives of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Science and Technology and provinces across the country. He praised and highly appreciated the efforts of the staff and members doing the work of promoting education from the Central to the localities.
The General Secretary also pointed out the limitations and shortcomings, requiring all levels of the Party and State throughout the country to continue to strive to innovate their working methods and promote a culture of learning among the entire population; so that every citizen, especially cadres and employees in the political system, "dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, and dare to sacrifice for the common good".
Together with other localities in the country, Thai Nguyen province's HKH has gone through 24 years of construction and development, the number of organizations and members has grown continuously. The province's HKH organization has covered all communes, wards, residential groups, villages and hamlets with a total of 471,219/1,799,000 (26.1%). The Association system has developed widely in schools, agencies and units.
The signed programs to coordinate activities to promote learning, encourage talents, and build a learning society with 12 socio-political organizations, socio-professional organizations, and relevant agencies continue to be maintained, creating a combined strength in developing the learning promotion movement strongly and widely.
The implementation of 5 learning models according to Decision 387/QD-TTg, 677/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister and the direction of the province and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Farmers has been seriously implemented by all levels of the Association, considering this a regular and continuous task in the period 2021-2030. The initial results in implementing the learning models in the period 2021-2025 have contributed significantly to the success of the emulation movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas in the province.
The role of family and clan is increasingly affirmed in preserving and promoting national cultural traditions and the good qualities of Vietnamese people in the new era. Applying digital transformation to education promotion work, many activities become more flexible, responsive, more widespread, and cost-effective.
The evaluation of the Citizen Learning model on the software system has initially achieved positive results with admirable numbers. Thai Nguyen is currently in the top 10 provinces effectively implementing this Program, commended by the Central Association, and selected as one of the provinces to pilot the evaluation of the Citizen Learning model in phase 2 (2025-2030), the period after the merger and implementation of 2-level local government.
Responding to the launch of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, in 2025, the Student Associations at all levels in the province will continue to develop plans and organize scholarship awards named after the teachings of beloved Uncle Ho "Learning never ends" on the occasion of his birthday. The "Encouraging Green Learning" mindset is gradually spreading in each locality and unit in the province.
The activity "Week of Lifelong Learning" on the occasion of the Vietnam Education Promotion Day was actively implemented by the local HKH in coordination with the Education and Training sector. This year, the ceremony to commend and reward students who won prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students and teachers whose students won prizes with the sponsorship of Samsung Thai Nguyen Company continued to be solemnly held with 122 students who won national and international prizes and 62 instructors who received scholarships, totaling nearly 450 million VND.
Recently, in response to the "Month of Encouragement of Learning", since mid-August, the Provincial Student Associations at all levels have organized many practical activities from villages, hamlets, residential groups to commune levels; awarded scholarships and many meaningful gifts to students. The Provincial Student Association coordinated to organize the 13th "Lighting up the faith, helping children go to school" program in 2025 at studio S1 of the Provincial Newspaper, Radio and Television, and the Bac Kan Continuing Education Center in Duc Xuan ward.
Thereby, 240 scholarships and 80 gifts worth over 300 million VND were awarded to outstanding students in the province who overcame difficulties to excel in their studies. On the occasion of the preliminary review of the implementation of Decision 387/QD-TTg and Decision 677/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister for the period 2021-2025, typical provincial-level learning models, 76 typical models in the province were commended and rewarded by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Student Association; the Provincial Student Association was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee.
