Thai Binh Provincial Police informed that Hung Ha District Police have just issued a decision to prosecute a criminal case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Nguyen Van Khan (born in 1985, residing in Hung Nhan town, Hung Ha district) for the crime of "Torturing others".

At the investigation agency, Nguyen Van Khan confessed: Due to his hot-tempered nature and wanting to educate his child, Khan repeatedly used bamboo sticks, sandals, and clothes hangers to beat NGB, leaving many injuries on his body.

Most recently, on May 15, Khan came home from work and did not see B. at home. Khan went to look for her and used a dry bamboo stick about 60 cm long to hit her many times on her buttocks, calves, back and arms, causing many injuries, torn skin and bleeding. Currently, B. is being treated at Hung Nhan General Hospital, Hung Ha district with multiple injuries, scratches, bruises on the head, chest, shoulders, back and swollen arms on both sides.

It is known that in 2018, Khan lived as husband and wife with Ms. NTY, residing in Quoc Oai district, Hanoi city but did not register their marriage; during their time together, Ms. Y. became pregnant and gave birth to NGB, after which Ms. Y. left for an unknown place. However, according to the Birth Certificate issued by the People's Committee of Hoa Thach commune, Quoc Oai district, it does not show who NGB's biological father is. Therefore, there is not enough legal basis to determine whether B. is Khan's biological or legally adopted child.

Hung Ha District Police initiated a case, prosecuted Nguyen Van Khan for the crime of "Torturing others" and collected DNA samples from Khan and B. for genetic testing to determine blood relationship.

Nguyen Van Khan himself has two previous convictions for "Theft of property" and "Robbery".
