Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross: Timely support of necessities for people affected by storm No. 10

Due to the influence of storm circulation No. 10 combined with the high-altitude wind convergence zone, on September 29-30, Lao Cai province suffered a prolonged period of heavy rain, causing heavy damage to people and property.

Seriously affected localities include wards/communes: Yen Bai , Nam Cuong, Au Lau, Van Phu, Lao Cai, Cam Duong, Nghia Do, Coc Lau, Xuan Hoa, Thuong Ha, Bao Ha, Bao Yen, Lam Giang, Chau Que, Chieng Ken, Van Ban, Vo Lao, Khanh Yen, Duong Quy...

Faced with the urgent situation, the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross quickly organized working groups to carry out emergency relief activities, directly going to households in heavily affected wards such as Yen Bai, Van Phu, Nam Cuong and Au Lau to deliver essential necessities, helping people to soon stabilize their lives.

Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross staff and other units presented necessities and drinking water to people affected by storm No. 10.

In the first relief round, the Association distributed 200 boxes of mineral water, 200 boxes of instant noodles, 100 boxes of cakes, 50 meals and many other necessities. Although the gifts were simple, they demonstrated the spirit of mutual love and shared the difficulties with people in the disaster area.

Currently, the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross continues to call on and mobilize groups and individuals inside and outside the province to join hands to help people overcome the consequences of storm No. 10. All support will be delivered to the most disadvantaged households.
