Arrested young man who crashed his car into traffic police

A 17-year-old man recklessly drove a modified, unlicensed motorbike straight into a traffic police checkpoint on National Highway 1A on the third day of Tet, causing a traffic police officer to break his bones and require emergency hospitalization.

On February 12 (the third day of Tet), the Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh Province Police said that the functional units were temporarily detaining TNHA (born in 2007, residing in Krong Nang District, Dak Lak Province) to clarify the act of not obeying the order to stop the vehicle, hitting a person on duty, causing injury to a traffic police officer.

On the same morning, a working group of 9 officers and soldiers of Tuy Phuoc Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh province) was on duty on National Highway 1A, passing through My Trinh commune, Phu My district, Binh Dinh.

At 11:30 a.m. the same day, the task force discovered that TNHA was driving a Honda Winner motorbike without a license plate heading North-South, so they signaled him to stop the vehicle for inspection. However, A. did not comply with the command and continued to accelerate straight ahead at high speed.

At this time, Captain Nguyen Dinh Long, an officer of the traffic control patrol team, signaled the vehicle to stop, but A. continued to accelerate and hit Captain Long, causing both of them to fall onto the road.

The strong collision caused Captain Nguyen Dinh Long to fall onto the road and he was taken to Binh Dinh General Hospital for emergency treatment. At the hospital, X-ray results showed that Captain Long had a broken elbow and a broken fibula.

“This afternoon, Captain Long was transferred by doctors for surgery for his injuries. Currently, his health is gradually recovering,” said a representative of the Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh province.

According to this representative, through quick drug and alcohol tests, A. did not violate the law.
