An Giang Provincial Border Guard trains 80 officers in ethnic knowledge

On the morning of September 9, at Training - Mobile Battalion 1, the Border Guard Command of An Giang province opened a training course on ethnic knowledge for 80 cadres from agencies and units.

The training course took place over 4 days (from September 9 to 12), focusing on 7 topics: Overview of Vietnam's ethnic minorities; the Party's viewpoints, policies and guidelines on ethnic issues and ethnic affairs; laws and policies of the State on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas; building a strong grassroots political system in ethnic minority areas; State management of ethnic minority culture; national defense and security in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; and the Army's participation in resolving complicated cases.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Doan Dinh Tranh, Deputy Political Commissar of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, emphasized that training and updating knowledge about ethnic groups for officers and professional soldiers is extremely important, helping cadres improve their understanding and knowledge of the customs and practices of ethnic minorities in border, sea and island areas.

On the basis of the knowledge gained, it helps border guards to perform well their assigned duties and tasks, closely coordinate with local Party committees, authorities and organizations to effectively implement ethnic policies, strengthen the great national unity bloc; improve skills in handling situations related to ethnic issues, do a good job of propaganda and mass mobilization...
