Ministry of Justice organizes a lottery to verify assets and income in 2025

On the afternoon of October 9, the Ministry of Justice held a lottery and selected 7 officials and civil servants to conduct asset and income verification in 2025.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Tinh chaired the 2025 asset and income verification drawing of the Ministry of Justice .

According to Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Thanh Tinh, the verification of assets and income of those who are obliged to declare assets and income aims to assess the accuracy and clarity of the declaration content of those who are obliged to declare. At the same time, it raises the awareness and consciousness of officials and civil servants in declaring assets and income.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Tinh emphasized that the verification of assets and income aims to prevent, detect and handle corruption (if any) against those who are obliged to declare; strictly implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on corruption prevention and control. Thereby, identify existing problems, limitations, causes and propose solutions to overcome and improve the effectiveness of corruption prevention.

According to the plan approved by the Minister of Justice, the number of people selected for random verification must ensure at least 10% of the number of people required to make annual declarations at each agency or unit being verified, including at least 1 person who is the deputy head of the agency, organization or unit.

Regarding the criteria for selecting people who are obliged to declare assets, they are subjects who are required to declare assets and income annually and whose assets and income have not been verified in the previous 4 consecutive years. Except for the following cases: People who are being investigated, prosecuted, or tried; are being treated for a serious illness confirmed by a competent health agency; are studying or working abroad for 12 months or more.

After 7 public draws, the Ministry of Justice selected 7 people from 5 units to conduct inspection and verification of assets and income, including: Department of International Cooperation; Hanoi Law University; Democracy and Law Magazine; Vietnam Law Newspaper; Department of Criminal and Administrative Law.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Tinh requested the units and individuals selected to conduct inspections and verification of assets and incomes to focus on implementing tasks on time and with quality.
