Professional training on “Podcasting skills”

In the context of constantly developing digital media, press and media organizations are facing many challenges in terms of revenue. Solutions such as website development, mobile applications, tablet versions, or focusing on video , event organization... are all considered to optimize revenue sources.

Podcasts have proven to be a strong draw for audiences and advertisers, creating an effective, highly personalized marketing channel that makes it easy for brands to connect with listeners.

In class, everyone discussed the difference between podcasts and traditional radio programs. Podcasts are understood as digital audio files distributed over the internet, allowing users to listen online or download to personal devices such as computers, phones, tablets.

Compared to traditional radio programs, podcasts are flexible, allowing listeners to proactively choose time and content; highly personalized, meeting the interests and needs of each listener; podcast production time is not fixed, allowing producers to freely create content.

Applying knowledge into practice, students produced a number of podcast products: Green urban areas - signs of the future; How to teach children in the past? Duyen's story; Living off food reviews; Young people become journalists; Increasing kidney failure in young people - what is the cause?

Through each product, the lecturer pointed out the advantages and disadvantages in the layout of a podcast product; notes when using AI voiceover; how to insert music and sounds to make it attractive, interaction between guests and the host...

The idea of podcasts appeared in 2001, but it was not until 2014 that podcasts really developed strongly and had the first episodes widely produced. Since then, podcasts have become an indispensable part of the digital media ecosystem, attracting millions of listeners worldwide. Current forms of journalism podcasts are diverse such as storytelling, chat, interview, news storytelling...
