HISTORIC BOOST of women's volleyball
Mr. Le Tri Truong, General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV), emphasized that the victory of the Vietnamese team over Thailand in the second round of the SEA V.League was extremely important. "We have been waiting for this victory for a long time but it was only possible until now. The fact that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team overcame Thailand for the first time and won the SEA V.League is not only a story of achievement but also affirms the progress and effectiveness of investment and care from the club level to the national team. This is also a big push for Vietnamese volleyball to be invested more strongly in order to move towards the future and conquer new heights," Mr. Truong shared.
Vietnam women's team won the SEA V.League
Bich Tuyen played excellently
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: "It must be admitted that Thailand is still a strong team. The Vietnamese team won thanks to the experience gained from previous losses against this opponent. More importantly, the confidence and the spirit of not giving up from the Vietnamese girls. The way we were behind 2-0 but knew how to adjust to come back and win shows that the Vietnamese players are brave and do not give up when under pressure. Matches like the one with Thailand are an opportunity for the players to mature and be ready for bigger matches in the future. Surely the opponent will study and find ways to neutralize the playing style of the Vietnamese team when competing at the 33rd SEA Games in December. Therefore, the Vietnamese team also has to practice more tactics and diversify their playing style to be ready for the rematch with the opponent, competing for the 33rd SEA Games gold medal. The team still has many issues to learn from and improve and needs to diversify their playing style and promote the effectiveness of more attacks."

NEW POSITION
Mr. Le Tri Truong said that with the progress in recent times, especially when winning the right to participate in the 2025 World Volleyball Championship in Thailand for the first time (taking place from August 22 to September 7), the Vietnamese women's team (ranked 22nd in the world for the first time) has received international attention. The Kenyan team (ranked 23rd in the world) and the Spanish team (ranked 32nd in the world) chose Vietnam as a training base to prepare for the world championship. These two teams also want to play friendly matches with the Vietnamese team, so we have more quality "green troops" to compete with.
In their first time in the world arena, the Vietnamese team is in Group G, facing very strong teams such as Poland (ranked 3rd in the world), Germany (ranked 11th in the world) and Kenya. Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and their teammates are confident that they will be able to show their full potential. The Vietnamese team promises to create an interesting surprise in the big arena. Bich Tuyen has played extremely well in the regional arena and if she maintains her high form, this 1.88 m tall girl is expected to make a miracle.
The Vietnamese team has finalized the list of 14 players participating in the world championship including: Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Pham Thi Hien, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Le Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Tran Thi Bich Thuy.
"DO N'T PUT PRESSURE ON YOUNG PLAYERS "
Along with the success of the Vietnamese women's team, the U.21 team also made their mark in their first participation in the U.21 Women's Volleyball World Cup taking place in Indonesia. With 3 wins against U.21 Indonesia, U.21 Serbia, U.21 Canada and 1 loss against U.21 Argentina, the U.21 Vietnam team is sure to enter the knockout round (16 teams). Coach Nguyen Trong Linh and his team will play the final round of the group stage today (August 12) to determine their ranking as well as know their opponents in the next round.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: "We congratulate and are proud that the U.21 Vietnam team is playing successfully. They show steady progress and this is also the future of Vietnamese women's volleyball. However, we should not put too much pressure on the young players. They need to keep their feet on the ground to constantly improve."
