In all of Southeast Asia, only Vietnam passed the Asian U20 Women's Qualifiers.

In last night’s match, the U20 Vietnam women’s team was both superior in skill and had the advantage of the home field. The team easily dominated the game and scored in the 3rd minute. In an indecisive clearance, the white-shirted defender sent the ball right to Hong Van. This striker kicked into a dangerous corner to open the scoring for the home team.

After that, U20 Vietnam women's team dominated the match. In the 29th minute, they doubled their advantage and continued to be the opponent's defense's mistake. Khanh Vy crossed from the right wing, the Kyrgyzstan goalkeeper fumbled and pushed the ball into the net.

The first half ended with a 2-0 advantage in favor of the Vietnamese girls. The team played leisurely in the second half when they were sure of victory. Because Kyrgyzstan was too weak, they could not put pressure on the girls in red. In the 76th minute, the Central Asian team lost the third goal. No one was marking Khanh Vy so this defender easily headed the ball into the net.

Vietnam ended the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Championship qualifying campaign with a 3-0 victory to top the group. The team won all 3 matches, scoring 14 goals and conceding none, thereby earning a direct ticket to the finals. Vietnam was also the only representative of Southeast Asia to qualify.

The other representatives were eliminated. The bottom teams were Singapore, Cambodia, Timor Leste. Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia ranked 3rd while Indonesia was the best in 2nd place but was still eliminated. The reason was that they could not make it into the group of 3 best second-placed teams. As for Thailand, because they were the host of the final round, this team was exempted from the qualifying round while the remaining 2 representatives of the region, Brunei and the Philippines, did not send representatives to participate.
