Spreading the desire to contribute from the patriotic emulation movement

The 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism took place on September 25, 2025 in Hanoi. This is a grand event, where the most beautiful flowers in the emulation movement for the period 2021 - 2025 are honored, and at the same time, arousing new momentum for the period 2025 - 2030.

Journey of competition - journey of aspiration

Over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movement of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has become concrete actions in all fields.

Institutional building work has achieved many outstanding results: The Ministry has submitted and had important laws passed by the National Assembly , such as the 2022 Law on Cinema (amended); the 2022 Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence...

The Ministry also issued more than 120 legal documents, perfecting the strategy for developing culture, sports and tourism until 2030, with a vision to 2045, creating a solid foundation for sustainable development.

Many activities to promote and introduce Vietnam's image abroad are organized to make an impression on international friends.

At the grassroots level, the movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” has been replicated in most provinces and cities. Up to now, more than 70% of villages, hamlets and residential groups nationwide have met cultural standards, contributing to improving spiritual life, preserving good customs and practices and spreading community spirit.

In sports, the movement to practice following Uncle Ho's example attracts millions of people to participate, with more than 30% of the population regularly practicing physical exercise and sports.

High-performance sports also left a strong impression: Vietnam ranked first overall at SEA Games 31 and 32, winning many valuable medals at ASIAD 19. Notably, for the first time in history, the national women's football team participated in the 2023 World Cup, affirming the position of Vietnamese sports on the world stage.

Tourism has made many breakthrough developments.

Vietnam tourism has made a spectacular recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2024, the tourism industry will welcome more than 17.5 million international visitors, serve about 108 million domestic visitors, and earn a total revenue of VND840 trillion.

For many consecutive years, Vietnam has been honored by the World Travel Awards as "Asia's Leading Destination" and "World's Leading Heritage Destination".

Those numbers not only reflect strong growth but also affirm the position of Vietnamese tourism on the world map.

The emulation movement in the culture, sports and tourism sector is closely linked to each stage of the country's development. In 2021, the slogan for action is "Solidarity, creativity, emulation to build and defend the Fatherland". By 2025, when the country enters the acceleration phase, a new motto will be determined: "Firmly set goals, unleash resources, sustainable development".

Each slogan is a call to arms, encouraging the entire industry to break through and concentrate on completing the task.

Honoring 300 outstanding artists, athletes...

The 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism gathered more than 300 outstanding delegates, with vivid stories of determination and dedication.

There was coach Mai Duc Chung, who silently led the Vietnamese women's football team to write a miracle at the World Cup; athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh, the "golden girl" who raced to the finish line in challenging races, becoming the pride of Vietnamese athletics; weightlifter Lai Gia Thanh, who won many international gold medals, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese sports.

The national women's football team has achieved excellent results.

In the field of culture and arts, People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung is still diligently keeping the fire of puppetry alive, contributing to bringing the traditional art form closer to young audiences; Meritorious Artist Xuan Bac is not only creative on stage but also active in cultural management and promotion; many folk artists and grassroots cultural officials are also honored for their persistent contributions to preserving identity.

In the tourism sector, young faces like student Doan Ngoc Anh, representing the new generation, express their desire to contribute through initiatives to promote digital tourism, affirming the role of youth in the development of the industry.

The 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is not only an occasion to summarize achievements, but also a commitment to the future.

The emulation movement in the 2025 - 2030 period will continue to be associated with digital transformation, innovation, promoting cultural soft power, bringing Vietnamese sports far and affirming tourism as a key economic sector.
