Singer Tuan Duong suffered a traumatic brain injury in an accident.

Ms. Ngoc Mai - singer Tuan Duong's sister informed VietNamNet that he had a traffic accident on October 30 and was taken to Le Van Thinh Hospital (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) by locals with a traumatic brain injury and a crushed skull on the left hemisphere of the brain.

Upon receiving the news, Ms. Mai immediately flew to Ho Chi Minh City early in the morning of November 1. "When he was discovered, he was completely unconscious, lying in a pool of blood. I - his only relative at the moment - was there to take care of him," she said.

After emergency surgery, Tuan Duong is still in critical condition, with a 50% chance of survival. After a few days in the hospital, he was removed from the intensive care unit for further monitoring.

On November 6, the singer opened his eyes for the first time after many days of coma. He could respond to sounds but had not regained consciousness, and the right half of his body remained immobile. Food was given through a gastric tube.

Ms. Mai said: "Currently, he is out of danger but I can't say anything yet. Because he is in a coma, he has uncontrollable actions but I am his sister, I don't mind that."

In the past few days, many colleagues at the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera and in the profession have come to visit Tuan Duong. They took turns looking after him for a short time so that Ms. Mai could rest.

The estimated hospital bill is several hundred million VND, not including the cost of skull repair with artificial material. When arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Mai only had time to borrow a small amount of money from relatives. She is grateful to her colleagues for donating to help her brother.

Tuan Duong's family is in a difficult situation. In addition to his sister, he also has an elderly mother who has been paralyzed for many years due to a stroke. Mai asked relatives to take care of her mother while she went to Ho Chi Minh City to take care of her brother. She did not dare tell her mother about the accident.

Singer Tuan Duong was born in 1984 and has worked at the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera for about 10 years. He is the Tenor of the opera troupe, participating in most of the big and small plays, and is also a member of the theater's male choir.

In the eyes of his colleagues, Tuan Duong is gentle, humorous, emotional and responsible. After graduating, he went to the South to start a career.

In addition to working hours at the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera, he took the opportunity to work extra to earn income, but unexpectedly got into a traffic accident on the way home.
