Key transport projects speed up before rainy season

At the project of connecting road from An Nhon town center to the coastal road west of Thi Nai lagoon ( route length over 9.3km, total investment of 1,000 billion VND), contractors are increasing asphalt concrete paving in sections where weak ground is not treated (Km0 - Km7).

Particularly, the weak soil treatment section from Km7 - Km9+391 is unloading some qualified sections and constructing, reinforcing the slope, residential access road; and implementing the construction of the traffic safety system. According to statistics, this project has achieved more than 76% progress .

Similarly, at the project of bypass road south of Phu Phong town (Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province), Tay Son district People's Committee has basically handed over the site. However, there are still 6 locations on the route that are still stuck with technical infrastructure of electricity, water, and fiber optic cables.

Binh Dinh Provincial Traffic Project Management Board is actively coordinating with Tay Son District People's Committee to promptly resolve remaining site clearance issues, striving to complete in September 2024.

At the construction site, the contractor is constructing the roadbed along the entire route, simultaneously constructing the crushed stone foundation layer, drainage works, and lighting system.

According to the report, the project has a total investment of more than 791 billion VND, a route length of nearly 18km, a roadbed width of 12m, and 6 bridges on the route. After 2 years of construction (August 2022), the project to bypass the South of Phu Phong town has reached 52.3% of the implementation.

At the inspection, the investor and contractors pledged to put into operation 3 routes including the southern bypass of Phu Phong town; the connecting road from National Highway 19 to Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial - Urban and Service Park; the connecting road from An Nhon town center to the coastal road west of Thi Nai lagoon on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Dinh province (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025).

According to Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, localities need to actively clear land and contractors need to speed up construction progress of projects before the rainy season.

The locality agreed on a plan to continue waiting for the weak soil of the coastal road section Cat Tien - Diem Van connecting Dien Bien Phu Street (Quy Nhon City) to subside, and only complete it when conditions are met.

"Currently, the progress of public investment disbursement in Binh Dinh province is among the top in the country, but the biggest concern is the upcoming rainy season. Therefore, through this inspection, investors and contractors are required to speed up the progress and increase the speed during the dry season.

For the rainy season, construction is limited because it will affect the quality of the project. In the remaining months of this dry season, we must speed up the construction progress, especially the roadbed filling", the Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee requested.
