Bac Giang industrial parks focus on drainage to ensure production activities.

Although industrial parks have basically been cleaned up and ensured safety for workers, slow drainage has caused some industrial parks to be partially congested.

Up to this point, the report on the damage and impact caused by Storm No. 3 by the Bac Giang Industrial Park Management Board shows that businesses in the industrial park mainly suffered damage to trees and broken signs, basically not greatly affecting production activities.

As of September 11, 2024, the total number of workers working in industrial parks is about 222,000 workers (an increase of about 5,000 workers compared to the same period in August 2024).

However, about 2,100 workers are temporarily out of work due to the impact of storm No. 3; in which, mainly workers in the northern mountainous provinces and workers in Son Dong and Luc Ngan districts have not been able to go to work due to the impact of difficult traffic and have to take time off work to overcome the consequences at home caused by storm No. 3.

In particular, the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Bac Giang province is concerned about water congestion in Quang Chau Industrial Park and Van Trung Industrial Park due to high water levels in drainage canals.

Some drainage locations in Van Trung Industrial Park are level with the water level on N7 canal, so water drains slowly. In some locations, water flows back from the drainage canal outside the industrial park into the collection pit inside the industrial park, causing local flooding on some road sections.

According to the assessment of the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Giang, if Quang Bieu Pumping Station and Cong Bun Pumping Station stop pumping at this time, the water level will rise, causing flooding to the roads in Quang Chau Industrial Park and Van Trung Industrial Park; there is a risk of flooding to manufacturing enterprises in the industrial parks.

To ensure timely drainage in industrial parks in the drainage basin of Quang Bieu Pumping Station and Cong Bun Pumping Station (Quang Chau Industrial Park, Van Trung Industrial Park, Dinh Tram Industrial Park, Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park); the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board recommends maintaining drainage pump units to promptly drain water for industrial parks, especially when there is heavy rain, ensuring safety for production activities of enterprises in industrial parks.
