Communes and wards in Gia Lai promote investment attraction

2025 is the first year that the province has assigned investment attraction targets to 135 communes and wards across the province. This is a new step towards strong decentralization, promoting the initiative and sense of responsibility of commune-level authorities in economic development, contributing to the completion of the province's socio-economic targets for 2025.

At the same time, this is also a measure to evaluate the capacity and performance of communes and wards after operating the two-level local government model.

Realizing that meaning, many localities have proactively and synchronously implemented drastic measures and achieved remarkable results. In particular, the most prominent is Binh Khe commune when it attracted 4 new investment projects with a total investment capital of more than 693.78 billion VND, exceeding 3 projects compared to the target assigned by the province.

The success of Binh Khe commune has a strong mark from the spirit of solidarity and unity from will to action in managing and implementing the socio-economic growth plan.

The commune has implemented the motto of "going one step ahead" in planning Tay Giang Industrial Park, Tay Giang Industrial Cluster; planning to expand Cau 16 Industrial Cluster and planning to expand the concentrated livestock area in Dong Hao area.

Along with that, the commune widely announced and organized community consultations on planning zones, industrial clusters, and concentrated livestock areas, creating high consensus among the people. From there, the locality quickly carried out inventory, compensation, and site clearance, creating clean land funds to attract investment.

According to Mr. Nguyen Cong De - Chairman of Binh Khe Commune People's Committee, new investment projects in Binh Khe include: Tay Giang Industrial Park's technical infrastructure investment project; dairy cow breeding and processing farm project; Tay Son pig breeding farm project; fertilizer production project. In addition, 1 enterprise is interested in Cau 16 Industrial Park's infrastructure investment project.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Khe Commune - said: "Currently, the commune is focusing on clearing the land of Tay Giang Industrial Park and other areas to hand over clean land to businesses to quickly implement 4 projects; at the same time, meeting and discussing with local investment businesses to listen, share and resolve difficulties, supporting businesses to continue investing in expanding production and business.

The commune will also complete the procedures to expand the area of the concentrated livestock area in Dong Hao area and propose the province to add 3 industrial parks in Tien Thuan village with a total area of about 200 hectares to increase the land fund to attract investment. On the other hand, the locality will coordinate with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to carry out the necessary procedures, select investors in the infrastructure of Tay Giang Industrial Park, creating momentum for socio-economic development.

Particularly in Phu My Nam commune, immediately after operating the 2-level local government model, the commune leaders conducted a field survey of Dai Thanh Industrial Park, both visiting and encouraging businesses operating in production and business, and checking and determining the remaining land area to invite businesses to invest in the Industrial Park.

Relevant information about industrial parks, categories, priority areas for attracting investment, along with preferential policies on taxes, land rents, etc. are widely disseminated, attracting the attention of many businesses.

The commune also proactively connects and organizes receptions, takes businesses on field surveys, supports investors from the stage of preparing project documents to construction implementation, creating a good impression with investors.

Up to now, Phu My Nam commune has attracted 4 new investment projects in Dai Thanh Industrial Park with a total investment capital of more than 116 billion VND, exceeding 2 projects compared to the target assigned by the province.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee - said: Along with supporting businesses to implement new projects, the commune continues to plan an additional industrial park with an area of 50 hectares and a high-tech agricultural area in Van Phuoc Tay village with an area of 175 hectares.

This area is located near the western route of the province (DT 638) and the North-South expressway, convenient for transporting goods. At the same time, the planning of the area in Van Thai village, located in the east of the commune, creates land funds to attract businesses to invest in infrastructure and invest in industrial and agricultural production projects.

"We also plan to connect with the Binh Dinh Association and Phu My District Association in other provinces and cities to introduce and invite businesses to come to our hometown to learn about and promote investment projects," said Ms. Phuong.
