Cam Tam is a particularly difficult commune of Cam Thuy district. 80% of the commune is ethnic minority, and the awareness of a part of the people is still limited. In previous years, Cam Tam was a key commune with complex security and order (SOC) issues.

To effectively combat all types of crime, maintain political security and social order and safety in the area, the Cam Tam commune police force has proactively advised the local Party Committee and government on ensuring security and order. Coordinate with mass organizations and villages to do a good job of propaganda and mobilizing people to participate in preventing and combating crimes and social evils; regularly educate the law and inform about methods and tricks of crime so that people can raise their vigilance and take preventive measures. Assign tasks to each officer to grasp the local situation to review and identify key issues that need to be focused on solving. Organize peak periods of attacking and suppressing crimes to solve complex problems of crime that arise in the commune.

With the efforts of the Party Committee, the government, organizations, local people, especially the police force of Cam Tam commune, the security and order situation in the commune has had many clear changes, crimes and social evils are controlled, the number of illegal cases is reduced every year; cases have been handled by the right people, in accordance with the law. Therefore, there are no complaints or denunciations from citizens. Currently, Cam Tam commune has achieved criterion No. 19.2 in the national criteria for communes that meet standards of social security and order and ensure peace; there are no prolonged mass complaints; no serious crimes; crimes and social evils are controlled and continuously reduced compared to previous years.

Along with the fight against crime and social evils, Cam Tam commune police force has done a good job in administrative management of social order, especially the management of residence, temporary residence, and temporary absence. Successfully built the models of "Fire prevention and fighting inter-family groups", "Country road lighting associated with security and order". Organized households to sign a commitment not to store, transport weapons, explosives, support tools and burn fireworks; families do not have relatives who violate the law and social evils. Completed the installation of a camera surveillance system to ensure security and order in the area. In addition, Cam Tam commune police regularly organize armed patrols combined with People's patrols. From the beginning of 2023 to now, the commune police have organized 80 People's patrols with 480 participants. Thereby, promptly detecting and handling law violators, bringing peace and happiness to the people.
