Aquaculture areas need to be arranged to suit the locality.

People of Hoa Xuan Nam commune, Dong Hoa town expressed their opinions at the conference.

Mr. Ho Hong Nam, Permanent Vice Chairman, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Yen province, Ms. Do Thi Nhu Tinh, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Yen province chaired the conference, with the participation of leaders of departments, branches, localities and people of coastal communes and wards of these two localities.

At the conference, most people agreed with the need to review and rearrange aquaculture areas to ensure sustainability, because the current problems of aquaculture mostly come from overlapping and unreasonable planning between types of planning, especially land use planning, leading to poor planning of aquaculture areas that are not suitable to reality.

Accordingly, people really want the competent state management agencies to have a systematic and scientific planning, on the basis of suitability with the actual conditions and socio-economic development of each locality. In particular, the fact that the Vung Ro bay area in Hoa Xuan Nam commune will not be arranged for aquaculture from 2025 has made many people worried, because the livelihood of people in this area is mainly aquaculture. Therefore, people suggest that relevant levels and sectors need to have appropriate solutions to change jobs and support livelihoods to ensure life.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Tri Phuong acknowledged and discussed and clarified the opinions of the delegates, thereby helping people better understand the purpose of the project to create consensus among the people.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Yen province also received comments to complete the document of comments and sent it to the drafting unit, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, to receive and respond according to regulations.
