Currently, floods on Cau River, Thuong River (Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh ) and other rivers in Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces are rising rapidly; other rivers in the Northern region are rising.
The meteorological agency said that from today (October 7) to October 10, floods on Cau River, Thuong River, Luc Nam River and rivers in Cao Bang , Lang Son provinces and other rivers in the North will continue to rise.
During this flood, the flood peak on Cau River, Thuong River, Luc Nam River exceeded alert level 3 (possibility of exceptionally large floods on these rivers); the flood peak on rivers in Lang Son, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh provinces rose to alert level 2-3 and above alert level 3; the flood peak on Thao River (Lao Cai), Lo River (Tuyen Quang) rose to alert level 1-2 and above alert level 2; the flood peak at Hoa Binh Lake, Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh), and the downstream of the Red River in Hanoi rose above alert level 1.
High risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas in the Northern region; risk of flash floods and landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of the Northern region.
Flood disaster risk warning level: Level 3.
The meteorological agency warned that floods on rivers and streams could cause flooding in low-lying areas along the rivers, affecting activities such as waterway transport, aquaculture, agricultural production, people's lives and socio-economic activities. People need to proactively take preventive measures and respond promptly to possible situations to minimize damage.
